With a wide range of coaching experience, and a major focus on Junior Baseball Development, the Greater Western Baseball Association is excited to announce Josh Gately as our 𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴𝘀 Coach for the 2020/21 Baseball NSW State Baseball League.

Holding continuous coaching positions within the Greater Western Baseball Association since 1995, Josh is also currently the Head Coach of our Majors Division in Baseball NSW – Little League, and has held 11 other similar roles with our Junior Warriors.

Through our membership of the NSW Junior Baseball League, Josh has also coached numerous teams overseas, including:
– 2012: St. Louis, USA. 5th Place in St. Louis International Games and selected as coach for International All-Star Team.
– 2013/2014/2018: Japan, including winning the Growing Up Cup – Asia Pacific PONY League Championships.
– 2016: Europe (London, Paris, Koln) – Won 14/15 games on tour.

On a playing level, Josh has been on the diamond since 1986, and currently holds the record for most games played for MacKillop Baseball Club (+700) over 42 Seasons, where he is currently Club President. Josh has also been a Warrior at both the Junior and Senior Level, including competing for Greater Western in the Sydney Winter Major League. In 1999-2000 Josh also represented both Baseball and Softball for the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges.

A second generation Warrior, Josh brings strong passion and work ethic to this position, and his focus on the utilisation of the available skills and the development of the player, both physically and mentally is sure to help the Association achieve outlined goals of having a positive impact in the next 3-5 years that will create a legacy for another 20 years.
