The Greater Western Baseball Association is excited to make its third announcement regarding the State Baseball League Grade Coaches for the upcoming inaugural season as Joe Ryerson and Mathew Forbes.
In charge of Second Grade is Joe Ryerson, a true veteran of the sport with 35 years playing experience, whose knowledge of the game is sure to be a valuable asset this coming season. Understanding what is needed for success at this level is an understatement for the former First Grade starter at both Penrith Panthers State League Baseball and Macarthur in the State Baseball League, as well as Hawkesbury Baseball Club in the Sydney Winter Major League.
Having previously coached in the First Grade State Baseball League a few years ago, Joe is involved with the MacKillop Baseball Club and currently the Junior Warriors Assistant Coach for the Little League division in the Baseball NSW – Little League State Championship this year.
Providing a strong foundation for the season, Third Grade will be in more than capable hands with Mathew Forbes’ extensive State Baseball League playing and coaching experience, including multiple premierships and player awards.
Keeping Warriors roles with Warriors people, Mathew was a player in the very first season of the Greater Western Baseball Association, as well as representing the region as a Junior Warrior in from Under 12s to Under 16s championships.
Currently the President of Colyton St clair Chiefs baseball club ( members ), Mathew has been coaching in the local competition, as well as heading up several State Championship campaigns in recent seasons with some notable wins. Building on his representative coaching roles, Matt was also a coach in the Baseball NSW Emerging Sydney Blue Sox program in 2018, as well as invited back to coach the Junior League Super Series in 2018/19.
Along with the First Grade and Under 18s Coaching staff, we are enthusiastic about the top quality of personnel charged with the responsibility of guiding the first Warriors entry in the BNSW State Baseball League, with plans well underway for a well run and cohesive organisation for 2020.
